Welcome Back to School!
Dear Anne Street Elementary School Families,
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged, and ready to start a new school year for your scholars. I am delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education and I look forward to working alongside you and our scholar(s).
All signs point to an incredible and productive school year. We are extremely excited about some of the new initiatives to partner with you relative to curriculum nights coupled with scholar and parent recognitions. Our enthusiastic office staff and administrative team have worked diligently to prepare for your return and/or arrival.
Everyday at ASE, we are committed to providing the best education for every child. An important part of our work is to prepare our scholars to be able to compete in a global society. Simply put, ALL scholars will READ, WRITE, SPEAK and PROBLEM SOLVE DAILY and ultimately become College and Career Ready Graduates.
Current research identifies many 21st century skills that our students will need in order to be successful in life. We are extremely proud to report that our students are steadily growing academically to meet and exceed those goals. For example, our ASE 5th grade ELA scholars postured academic gap closures with highest gains as one of two elementary schools within our awesome school district. WE ARE PROUD OF OUR SCHOLARS!
Important Reminder:
While we realize it's very difficult for parents who have scholars attending our school for the first-time, we strongly encouraged parents to not walk students to class after the first two weeks of school. Administrators will determine whether to permit or not case-by-case.
Wearing of Mask:
While we will continue to practice preventable and proactive protocols for safety as of date, wearing a face mask is optional for staff, visitors and students. Schools will still provide PPE supplies as in the past upon request. Keep in mind this is a fluid process and could change depending on guidance from the (LHD) Local Health Department and (CDC) Center for Disease Control which will be communicated from GSCS.
Lastly, we are excited to build on our work in language, literacy, math, science, and social studies with a focus on strengthening our scholars’ skills in all content areas, we are ecstatic to continue our work with our community and schools partnerships, we invite you to become an active participant on our school council because we value and welcome your input. Please contact the school at (770) 229-3746 for additional information.
Best regards,
Dr. S. Royal
