Griffin-Spalding Partners in Education (PIE) invites the community to a magical morning of holiday cheer as families are invited to Meet Santa. The event will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Griffin’s Morgan Hall, located at 8th Street.
Admission is free! The event is sponsored by U-Save It Pharmacy and Claxton Hobbs Pharmacy. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the local community food bank. Donations will be accepted and used to fund field trip scholarships for students.

For a cash donation (minimum $5), children can explore Santa’s Workshop, where they’ll create reindeer food, write letters to Santa, color Christmas pictures and engage in other holiday crafts under the guidance of Santa’s cheerful elves.

FINAL Immunization Deadline is Tomorrow, November 22! All Pre-K, Kindergarten, 7th or 11th grade students without updated immunization records will be sent home tomorrow, November 22, until updated records are received. Acceptable records include an updated Form 3231, a Medical Waiver (good for one year), a notarized Religious Waiver, or an appointment card. Please contact your school nurse with any questions or concerns.

Yesterday, GSCS Superintendent Dr. Simmons had his first Teacher Advisory Council meeting of this school year with all of the 2024-25 School-Level Teachers of the Year. They had great food and conversations about this year's successes so far and the desired successes for the remainder of the year. Wings & Wisdom!

Today, November 11th is the deadline for purchasing tickets for the Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday. All tickets must be paid for today so the cafeteria will know how much food to prepare. We can't wait to see you on Thursday!

Family Notification of Student Survey (3rd -5th grade students only)
Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are writing to inform you about a new student survey that will be conducted at your child’s school. The survey, which will be open from November 18, 2024 through March 13, 2025, includes 27 questions. It should take students approximately 10 minutes to complete, and it asks about the quality of teaching and learning, the school environment, support for students, and how commonly students in the school face challenges (such as being bullied). Names cannot be tied to survey answers in any way, and students can skip any question. The data will help leaders improve the school.
The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232(c)(1)(A) gives you the right to review a copy of the student survey questions. If you are planning on coming, please send this form and your money to school as soon as possible. In order for the cafeteria to prepare the right amount of food, the deadline for purchasing lunch tickets is November 11th.
