This week, GSCS Superintendent Dr. Donald Warren met with his high school student advisory boards at Griffin and Spalding High for Slice's with the Superintendent. Students had the opportunity to give their feedback on school nutrition, curriculum and other elements of their student experience. GSCS School Clerks were treated to a Clerk and Canvas Appreciation Luncheon today. GSCS Senior Cabinet and Executive Secretaries hosted the luncheon for the school clerks. They had great food and had a great time playing "Friendly Feud" and painting canvases. Thank you, school clerks, for all you do for our students and staff!

This week, middle and high school spring student athletes participated in the Beyond Self Athletes' Assembly, led by Community Partner and Mentor David Johnson. The Beyond Self Athlete Program is meant to grow student leadership skills, build character and improve school culture. Athletes were told they are all Persons Of Influence (POI) and the importance of the 3 R's: Respect Yourself, Respect Others and Take Responsibility. Keynote Speaker Tunji Adebayo inspired student-athletes to develop the skills and attitudes they need to recognize their potential.

All GSCS schools & offices will be closed for Presidents' Day & Winter Break February 16-20, 2026.

GSCS is so proud of these students for being Governors' Honor Program Semifinalists! They will move on to the interviews/auditions the last weekend of this month. Good luck!
